Some tools - running a geogrid on a business you don't manage, or the GeoGrid Widget's Maps URL lookup - ask for a Google Maps URL. Here is how to get the right one.
Copy it from Google Maps
Open Google Maps and search for the exact business.
Click the business to open its listing panel (the one with its name, rating and photos).
Copy the full URL from your browser's address bar. It contains the place identifier LocalOptics needs.
Tracking a business you don't manage
Because the Maps URL points at a specific business, you can use it to add and track a location you don't manage in LocalOptics - a prospect or a competitor - and run geogrids on it, without needing access to its Google Business Profile.
Make sure the business's own listing is open, not just a search results page or a dropped pin, so the URL points at the right place.
