Understanding Credits

LocalOptics runs on two separate credit balances, shown at the top right of your screen when you click to reveal the drop down menu: keyword credits and geogrid credits. Here is what each one costs and how it behaves.

Keyword credits

Keyword credits are used by rank tracking. Each keyword costs 1 credit per rank type, per check.

Rank types are Local (Maps), Organic desktop, and Organic mobile. Check frequency ranges from every 48 hours up to once a month.

Example: a keyword tracked on all three types and checked weekly costs 3 credits per check - about 12 credits a month. Three such keywords cost roughly 36 credits a month.

Keyword credits do not roll over. Unused keyword credits are not carried to the next month, so use what your plan allows.

Geogrid credits

Geogrid credits are used by scans. Every grid point costs 1 credit, so the cost equals the grid size:

  • 3×3 = 9 credits

  • 5×5 = 25 credits

  • 7×7 = 49 credits

  • 9×9 = 81 credits

  • 13×13 = 169 credits

A scheduled geogrid multiplies by how often it runs. A 9×9 grid run weekly costs about 81 × 4 = 324 credits a month.

Geogrid credits do roll over and accumulate month to month.

Disabled grid points

If you disable points on a grid, you are not charged for them. Disable 5 points on a 9×9 grid and you pay 76 credits instead of 81.
