The GeoBooster Website Widget

The GeoBooster JavaScript widget adds a map of your Moments to any website.

Creating a widget

In GeoBooster, open Widgets and click Add widget. Give it a name, paste your Google Maps API key (see Generating a Google Maps API Key).

From there a step-by-step configurator handles the rest - you set the map options (zoom, height, and so on), and the filters.

Configuring it

  • Businesses - add the business, or businesses, whose Moments the widget shows.

  • Appearance - style the widget's colors.

  • Filters - show different Moments on different pages (see below).

  • Embed - copy the generated snippet.

Show different Moments on different pages

Filters let one widget show different Moments depending on the page it is on. Add a filter for each page and enter its page path - the part of the URL after the domain, for example /los-angeles. On that filter, choose which Moments appear there by category, area, and country.

Place the same snippet on all those pages, and each page shows the Moments you set for its path. A trailing slash makes no difference, and you cannot add the same path twice.

For example, a company with a page for each city branch adds a filter for each branch's path and limits it to that branch's Moments, so every page shows only its own.

Add it to your site

On the Embed step, click Copy and paste the snippet where you want the widget to appear. For Wix, choose Wix as the platform first to get a snippet ready for it. On a WordPress site, exclude the widget script from any caching or optimization plugins (like WP Rocket), which can stop it from loading.
